Mariners

Saturday night we were over at Opa's house as we always do on Saturday nights. We were talking about the blogg & Jeff mentioned the over nighter. I had forgot all about that. Let's start in 1995. We were at the game when they were playing the Yankees. It was in the 12th inning & someone finally hit a home run for the M's & the game was over. Ady, Chris & I were celebrating when one of the ushers who was wearing a blue blazer & Coca-Cola glass's was high-fiving us when Chris decided to step on a half empty plastic bottle of orange juice. It went all over including the usher. There was oj all over him including his pockets & glass's. We looked at him, then at eatch other & then said "bye!" & then took off. We had the Bug & the M's did great, beat the Yankees in the playoffs & we wanted more. The home opener was against the Yankees & we all wanted to go. So, Pam, Chris, Jeff & I stayed out all night for the tickets. It started out innocently enough at 1st. We parked, set the tent up, & started to play catch with some guys in the Pavilion. Then a homeless guy tried to take my cookies. You know that wasn't going to happen. The it started to get real cold & it started to rain. Our tent was down hill from the parking lot which was asphalt & out tent was in the middle of a drainage river. It was all wet inside. Needless to say we ended up in our cars. In the morning we got up & moved to the ticket booth. We were really cold & wet. Then they wanted to charge us for parking which started at 7:00! Jeff wanted none of that nonsense & parked his car on the street. We parked our car to block the wind at the ticket booth. Then Karen brought some Enchiladas for breakfast, homemade. Thanks Karen. We got our tickets. Then game day arrived & as we were walking to our seats guess who we ran into? The usher! He remembered us. "Oh;it's you guys!" he said & gave us high-fives. We really know how to have fun don't we?I know that this picture has nothing to do with the story. It does have something to do with working the games in which we would do for years later on.Our soggy tent & waiting for the ticket office to open.
