Bordom!

I ran into a few pictures that I thought was really hilarious. As you all remember we spent a lot of Saturday's at the "Compound" & we would either sit outside & play basketball, have a fire, eat or all of above. If the weather sucks then we would be inside. Then we would get into trouble cause we would get bored. Here are some pictures of "being bored."This is Oma & Val getting their eyebrows waxed. Remember my back? I don't know why no one had a camera for that. A cam-corder would've been perfect!I'm not sure what's going on here. I'm a guy & I just don't know what is really going on here. But!

Thanksgiving 2000

This is the 1st Thanksgiving that we held in the Twin Lakes Building. It became a tradition, most of the time until the last couple of years. Thanksgiving of 99 was special cause it was grandma's last. I have a picture of it but! I was to lazy to take it off the wall. I mainly took pictures of thanksgiving for were we sat & who was there & how the children grew.

Rabbits, Rabbits, All Around Us!!!

Who can forget this timeless trip up north from a few years ago? This trip was really fun and funny as well. Rabbits were just ALL OVER the place. I do believe that this is also the same trip to go Whitewater Rafting as well. If anybody has any pictures of the actual rafting trip, please post them. This trip took place about 3 weeks after I got home from my mission.

Anderson Island

This isn't really isn't anything from before 1999 dad, but it is something that is really fun. Remember when we all went to Anderson Island for a Geocaching Tournament? It was a blast. I don't have very many pictures of it, but enjoy the few I have of it. I hope that we can have another one like this in the future. Anyone up for a tournament of geocaching while we are in Utah?

Sucking wasps!

On the day that Matthew got set apart for his mission, everyone thought it would be a good idea to suck all the wasps out of the wall at Opa's house. Uncle Jack manned the vaccuum while Dad smacked any escapees with a broom. The prisoners of war were then sprayed with bug killer while inside the vaccuum and then dumped into ziploc bags... does anyone know where those bags ended up?

The look on Uncle Ady's face is priceless. Good times!

Kingdome & Ice Cream Opa.

I'm doing the daily double. I want to have you all remember the kingdome. Even though we had great memories there, it had to go. We needed a real baseball stadium. The family was there for the implosion. I was at work. Remember you couldn't sit down. Then the couple how came at the last minute to get in front? If you have more memories of that time with pictures, Please blog about it.We all know that VanderHoeven women doesn't scoop Ice Cream. Remember when Opa use to do it? I do have a picture of that. The kids surely remember this!

Different stories.

I'm going to do something different. I'm changing things up. I'm skipping a couple of years & doing some short stories. I hope you enjoy! This 1st picture is Trick or Treating at Oma's house. She absolutely loved it when her grand kids came by for Trick-or Treating. These next two photographs are about the heritage. If you ain't Dutch, your ain't much. The first picture is in Lindon. As most of you know it's a big Dutch community. The second picture is Halloween. Don't they look Dutch? I wonder where they got those costumes? This picture brings back great memories. I sometimes miss the tramp. When we moved we had to throw away the thing cause it was falling apart & we don't have a fence. We got a lot of mileage out of that thing! This is the trip that I took Chris, a brother, a cousin & friend to Disneyland. It was for Chris's going away thing for his mission. We flew down Friday night to Anaheim, spent the night at the Faifield inn across the street, did the main street & got up the next AM for the park. We had a lot of fun.Matthew was dared that he wouldn't pose with any girl. He did.I love this photo. My alter-ego John Wayne. This is the closest I ever been to seeing him.

The Bailout.

Back in 1999, Aron was at a camp & it was time to go get him. So, I along with Ady & Jeff went to Las Vegas & checked into our hotel, Treasure Island. We 1st watched the Pirate show. You wouldn't believe we stood there forever. They had our reservation but, we still had to wait till a room came open We drove around & I had a guy, girl wanna-be blow me a kiss. Darn, I don't have a photograph. We finally went to sleep. Ady had gas problems. He had to get up early in the AM. When Jeff & I got up we looked for a place to eat. We tried Paris, to much money, so we went to the same Buffet we went to with our spouse's & Oma. It was a fum trip. We checked out Fremont Street & just cruising around. If you look below, it tired out Ady. This is the same machine that Oma used in an earlier blog.
